Study ten cards at a time and remember them for months

Rate each card from 1 to 5. Cards you miss come back in minutes and cards you know wait days or weeks.

No card needed to start. Pro is $5 a month, billed yearly.

Fixes for what people hate about flashcard apps

      10

No backlog to dig out of

Miss a week and you won't come back to a number in red. Due cards come up first, the weakest ones most often, ten at a time, and you stop whenever you want.

      Edit

      Fix a card mid-study

Spot a typo or a better way to word an answer, edit it, and you're back on the same card.

      </>

      Cards that hold real notes

Bold, lists, tables and code blocks on both sides of the card. Paste code in and the indentation stays put.

      CSV

      Your cards leave with you

Export one deck or all of them on any plan. Most flashcard apps can import the file, so you're never stuck here.

      Flashcards for code

Paste code into a question or an answer and it shows the way it looked in your editor, in a monospace font with the indentation intact. Inline code works inside a sentence too.

Use it for a new language, interview prep, SQL you keep looking up, or the git commands you forget every few months. Tab indents inside a code block, so you can write it right in the card.

      What does this print?

      nums = [3, 1, 2]
      nums.sort()
      print(nums[-1])

      3. sort() orders the list in place and [-1] is the last item.

      How it works

      1. Make cards or import them

Type them in, or import a CSV from the app you use now. Group decks into collections, like Design Patterns holding Strategy and Observer.

      2. Study ten at a time

Read the question, flip the card, rate yourself 1 to 5. Space flips and the number keys rate, so you never touch the mouse.

      3. MindMaxer picks the next review

A 1 comes back in about two minutes. A 5 waits a week, and each 5 after that doubles the wait.

      4. Watch the red turn green

Every deck has a bar showing how many cards sit at each rating. Mastery climbs as the weak cards get stronger.

      See what you actually know

The Insights page is built from every rating you've ever given.

      Forgetting curves

How much of each deck you'd still remember in a week or a month if you stopped today.

      Knowledge map

Every card on one screen, grouped by deck and colored by your last rating. Weak spots show up as red clusters.

      Year of study

A calendar of every day you studied and how much.

      Study clock

The hours you study, and the hours your ratings are highest.

      Questions

      What is spaced repetition?

You review a card right before you would forget it. Cards you know well come back after days or weeks, cards you miss come back in minutes. You spend your time on what you don't know yet.

How does the 1 to 5 rating work?

After you see the answer you rate how well you knew it, from 1 (not at all) to 5 (perfectly). A 1 comes back in about two minutes. A 5 comes back in a week, and every 4 or 5 in a row doubles the gap.

What happens if I fall behind?

Nothing piles up on screen. There's no overdue count. When you come back, due cards come up first with the weakest ones most often, and you study ten at a time until you want to stop.

Can I bring cards from another app?

Yes. Export a deck as CSV from the app you use now and import it here. One file becomes one deck, and you can import several at once.

Can I take my cards with me if I leave?

Yes. Export one deck or everything as CSV files, which most flashcard apps can import.

      Is there a phone app?

MindMaxer runs in your phone's browser and you can add it to your home screen, where it opens like an app. There's nothing to download from an app store.

      What does Pro cost?

$5 a month billed yearly, which is $60. Or $10 month to month. You can cancel any time from the Billing page.

      How do I cancel?

Billing, then Manage billing. Payments run through Stripe, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
