Import cards from a file
You can bring cards in from a spreadsheet or another flashcard app. You'll see every card before anything is saved.
Where to start
- To make a new deck, click Import CSV on a collection on the dashboard.
- To add cards to a deck you already have, open the deck and click Import CSV. The cards go at the end of the deck.
How the file should look
One card per row, the question first, then a comma, then the answer. No header row, so the first row is the first card.

If a question or answer has a comma in it, put it in double quotes, like the third row. Tab-separated files work too, and so do CSV exports from most flashcard apps. Files can be .csv, .tsv or .txt, up to 5 MB.
To make one yourself, download the example file, fill it in with Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers, and save it as CSV.
Steps
- Drop the file on the page, or click to pick it, then click Next: review the cards.
- Check every card. You can fix the text in place, tick cards and click Remove selected, or use Select all.
- For a new deck, check the deck name. It starts as the file name.
- Click Import.
Rows missing a question or an answer are left out, and the review page says how many.
On the free plan
The free plan holds 100 cards. If a file has more than you have room for, the review page says how many fit, so you can remove some before importing.
